One LockIn
For MacBooks with a notch

One task. One timer. Lock in.

One LockIn turns the black notch on your MacBook into a quiet focus timer. Pick one task, start the countdown, and it stays at the top of your screen, right where your eyes already go.

Download for Mac Free for 7 days, then $2.99 a month · or $19.90 once, yours for good · macOS 14 or later

A live demo. Switch states on the screen, or hover the notch to open your tasks.

How it works

Everything you need, nothing you have to look for.

The notch already sits at the centre of your screen. One LockIn uses the space around it and leaves the rest of your desktop alone.

Left of the notch

The task you chose

The first 18 characters of what you're working on, with its label colour, so a glance pulls you back to it.

Right of the notch

Your timer, always on

Large, steady digits for a countdown or an open-ended timer. You never open anything to check how long is left.

Underneath

A thin orange line

It fills as a countdown runs out. With the open-ended timer it fills every 30 minutes, then starts again.

When time's up

Finish, extend or start over in one click.

  • +5 min

Keep going a little longer. One click starts five more minutes. Click again for ten, again for fifteen.

  • Again

Run the same session again with the length you had before.

  • Archive

Tick it off. The task moves to the archive with its time saved.

Features

Small on purpose.

Hover the notch and a panel drops down with your tasks. Move away and it folds back up.

Start in one click

Press play on any task. Pick a 15, 25 or 50-minute countdown, or let it run open-ended.

Type it, label it, go

Type # and the first letter of a label and the rest fills itself in. Press tab to accept, or ⌘↩ to add the task and start the timer at once.

A label for every business

Colour-code tasks by client, brand or side project, then filter the list by one label or several at once.

Your list, your order

Drag tasks up and down, click a name to rename it, and tick it off to archive it. Restore anything from the archive later.

Suggestions from Claude

If you use Claude on your Mac, it can add tasks you mention while you work and suggest new ones. Each suggestion waits for your yes.

Private by default

No account and no cloud. Your tasks stay on your Mac in a plain file you can open yourself.

Weekly report

See where the week went.

One tap on the chart icon shows your time per label over the last 7 or 30 days. Enough to bill a client or spot a neglected project, and nothing more.

14h 20mtracked in the last 7 days

Example figures. Your report fills in as you use the timer.

What's left out

Fewer features, more focus.

Most productivity apps compete for your attention. This one tries to need as little of it as possible.

Questions

Good to know

Which Macs does it work on?

Any MacBook with a notch running macOS 14 Sonoma or later: the 14- and 16-inch MacBook Pro from 2021 onwards and the MacBook Air from 2022 onwards.

What about my external monitor?

For now the timer lives on your laptop screen only, so it's always in the same place. Support for external displays is planned.

Where are my tasks stored?

On your Mac, in a small file in your Library folder. Nothing is sent to a server, and you don't need an account.

Do I need Claude to use it?

No. Everything works on its own. If you already use Claude on your Mac, it can also add tasks and suggestions to your list, and you decide which ones to keep.

Is there an iPhone app?

Not yet. A version that lives in the iPhone's Dynamic Island is planned.

What's the difference between Monthly and Lifetime?

Nothing in the app. Both plans include every feature and update. Monthly costs $2.99 a month after a free week and you can cancel any time. Lifetime is a single $19.90 payment with no subscription, and comes with a 14-day money-back guarantee.

Can I switch from Monthly to Lifetime?

Yes. Buy Lifetime whenever you like and cancel your Monthly plan, and you'll never be charged again.

Can I cancel any time?

Yes. Cancel from your subscription settings in a couple of clicks, and you keep access until the end of the month you've paid for.

Ready to lock in?

Free for 7 days, then $2.99 a month. Or pay $19.90 once and never think about it again.
